Master Control
The classic three-hand watch with a 1,000-hour test
The Master Control is the manufacture's most understated line — and the one where its quality is most directly evident. Every watch undergoes a 1,000-hour test in fully assembled form.
The evolution of the Master Control
In 1992 Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Master Control 1000 Hours. The name refers to an in-house testing program spanning six weeks that examines the complete watch rather than the movement alone.
The line deliberately stands in the tradition of the classic three-hand watch: a plain round case, clear indices, no decorative additions.
Over the years a range of complications were added — Geographic with world time, chronograph, moon phase, perpetual calendar, and the Master Ultra Thin as a particularly slim execution.
In 2020 the manufacture revised the line with new calibres, longer power reserve, and a case adjusted to 40 mm.

Dials with aging marks around the indices occur on early models and are difficult to correct.

Manufacture service records are especially relevant on Geographic and calendar executions.
