The Duomètre separates the energy that drives timekeeping from the energy that drives the complication. Two barrels, one gear train, one escapement — a construction found in this form only at Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The evolution of the Duomètre
In 2007 the manufacture introduced the Duomètre à Chronographe and with it the Dual-Wing principle: two independent power flows acting on a shared regulating organ.
The advantage is that engaging a complication does not affect the balance's amplitude — rate stability remains constant.
The Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire with moon phase followed, along with the Sphérotourbillon with its multi-axis tourbillon and the Unique Travel Time with time-zone adjustment in one-minute steps.
In 2024 Jaeger-LeCoultre reworked the line with a new case, new dial executions and updated calibres.
