Diagono
Sporting geometry with a Roman signature
The Diagono brought Bulgari into a sportier, more urban form: round cases, graphic lines and the distinctive Bulgari-Bulgari bezel combine everyday wearability with the house's unmistakable language.
The evolution of the Diagono
In 1988 Bulgari introduced the Diagono as a modern sports watch. The name references Greek geometry and the pursuit of balanced proportions.
The distinctive Bulgari-Bulgari engraving on the bezel carried an element over from the world of jewellery, making the watch's origins clear at a glance.
With the Scuba, Aluminium and Diagono Magnesium lines, Bulgari expanded the concept to include dive watches and innovative lightweight materials.
The Diagono also formed an important bridge to the later Octo: its sporting geometry and technical orientation paved the way for Bulgari as a serious Swiss watch manufacture.

What to look for when buying
- 01
Early Diagono references are a distinctive, often underrated chapter of Bulgari's history and offer a good entry point into the house.
- 02
On the Bulgari-Bulgari bezel the engraving must be sharp and even; heavily polished examples lose their original definition.
- 03
On Scuba and chronograph models, water resistance, pusher action and the correct movement variant should be checked before purchase.
